There is so much more to Kapchorwa and the region of Mount Elgon than it’s unique running culture. There is a vast area of unspoilt nature ready to be explored, hiked, cycled and climbed. In addition to outdoor activity and adventure sports, there is also the ancient culture of the Sebei people to discover.
At Run Kapchorwa, part of our mission is to work alongside Ugandan tourism entrepreneurs who have an interest in adventure sport and outdoor pursuits. We aim to provide them with the tools they need to develop their skills and grow their business.

Sipi Sunset Walk
The sunset hike is arguably our best tour. You will take a tranquil evening walk along Sipi Street to the viewpoint. The view is so stunning that you may not wish to leave anytime soon. We regard it as “a summary of the day tour” with beautiful highlights and a glimpse of twilight on the horizon.

Sipi Falls Hike
Arguably the most spectacular waterfalls in all Uganda and East Africa at large, Sipi Falls consists of three waterfalls cascading downward at 100m, 85m and 65m.
The largest fall attracts the crowds but the 85m and 65m falls are beautiful and easily accessed. The water cascades down slopes to the flat plains of the Teso that lie south of Mount Elgon and disappear. It’s well worth exploring these peaceful, magnificent waterfalls and allowing time to enjoy the breathtaking views and sights.

Wanale Falls Hike
Wanale is undoubtedly the most exhilarating waterfall hike in Mbale. Wanale Ridge waterfall cascades spectacularly down a sheer rock wall onto the valley below. After hiking steep slopes and reaching the top, you are rewarded with a spectacular view, stretching from Mbale town lying on the lower slopes, south of Wanale ridge, the outline of Tororo hill disappearing in the mist and not forgetting the most famous volcanic mountain in Uganda: Mount Elgon.
Climbing Wanale is to experience one of the hidden gems of Uganda. A popular (and more intense) hike that will take you to rarely seen sights.

Abseiling in Sipi
Abseiling Sipi Falls involves descending beside a thundering waterfall with a height of 110 meters. Based in the stunning Sipi Falls gorge we use professional equipment approved by Uganda Mountain climbers.

Coffee Experience
This coffee tour provides a ‘hands on’ experience and is very interactive and participatory. It involves learning the origin and the process of coffee from the time of planting, weeding, harvesting, pulping, washing, removal of husks, roasting, grinding into powder, brewing and finally sipping a cup of your own made coffee. It may sound a lengthy process but it’s so rewarding!
Gain knowledge on all the stages of processing your own cup of coffee.
Contribute to the conservation of the environment as you will plant a coffee seedling

Sebei Cultural Storytelling
Sebei Cultural Storytellers is a team of over thirty youths, with nine years’ experience in the act of expressing to others, with love, the beauty, uniqueness and richness our culture has.
The Sabiny culture has so deeply enriched into our hearts that we can’t exhaust expressing its orature: poems, riddles, legends, myths, songs, dances, games, dress code, foods among others with many great life lessons, that leave people enthralled.
